Ilkley and Addingham Labour Party is pleased to announce its candidates for the Bradford council elections in May.
Stephen Hey, Lorraine Dowson, and John Flaherty will stand in the ward.
Stephen moved to Ben Rhydding from the Netherlands 11 years ago and is now retired following a successful career in industry in the UK and Europe. He is an active member of community groups in Ilkley and Wharfedale.
Lorraine grew up in Leeds, trained as a teacher in Bradford and has lived in Ben Rhydding since 2009. She is semi-retired and works for national literacy charity, Coram Beanstalk.
John is from Yorkshire and moved to Ilkley two years ago. He has worked in industry, most recently running a renewable energy business.
Stephen, John and Lorraine want to build on the cohesion and strengths of the local community, to be a strong voice for Ilkley and Addingham on Bradford Council. They believe that they can help continue the positive progress of Bradford Council and, at the same time, deliver worthwhile improvements in Ilkley and Addingham.
Jane Gibson, Mayor of Ilkley says: “Lorraine, John and Stephen have been out speaking with residents since 2024. They fully understand the nature and needs of the town and will approach their work in a mature, progressive and collaborative way.”
