£20m funding for Keighley
£20m funding for Keighley
💷 £20m is being invested in Keighley by the Labour Government! Over the next decade the funding will help improve vital community services from education, health and employment, to tackling local issues such as crime.
❌ This plan stands in contrast to the Conservatives’ unfunded and failed approach to towns funding, which saw non-existent money promised and micro-managing from Whitehall.
🖼️ The council has already started a consultation with people in the town focusing on improving transport and connections, tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, and enhancing the town centre to make it more attractive and accessible – including re-purposing empty shops for new housing, improving green spaces and street cleaning.
📚 Today’s announcement increases the types of projects that can benefit, meaning the investment could also be used to improve youth clubs, libraries, health and wellbeing services and more.
❤️ These £1.5bn plans benefit 75 towns across the UK and put local people in charge of their own regeneration.
