Who We Are
Keighley Constituency Labour Party is made up of six branches: Craven; Ilkley; Keighley Central; Keighley East; Keighley West; and Worth Valley.
Since 1959, the seat has been a bellwether (its winner affiliated to the winning party nationally), with two exceptions: in 1979 and 2017, the seat returned Labour, bucking the national result.
We are tremendously fortunate to be served by 6 hard working Labour councillors in our constituency: Caroline Firth; Doreen Lee; Malcolm Slater (Keighley East); Adrian Farley; Paul Godwin; and Julie Lintern (Keighley West).
Between 2017 and 2019 we were even more fortunate to have John Grogan as our Member of Parliament. He worked tirelessly, helping everyone throughout Keighley and Ilkley who needed his support. However in the 2019 General Election he unfortunately lost his seat to a Tory. A Tory who refuses to budge from his party’s line and has supported every disastrous measure this government has implemented. We need to take this seat back so we can get back to helping those that need us.
